McDonald's Kiddie Crew 2013 Grand Graduation

Saturday, May 18, was a very special day for the Kiddos.
Why? Because it was their Grand Graduation as Kiddie Crew members. And it was held for the first time at the Cebu International Convention Center (CICC), in Mandaue City.

You can just see their excitement while we were on our way, and so much more when we were approaching CICC and they saw 2 big McDonald's flags! There was a lot of shrieking and jumping, and they ran to get to the registration first.

with their painted faces, and a lot of photo ops
They all enjoyed dancing with Hamburglar, Grimace, Birdie ....... and most especially, Ronald McDonald! Ronald also led the singing of the Kiddie Crew Anthem, which the Kids did with so much gusto.

And after the event, we went to the nearby Parkmall, to chill and wait for our ride with Grandpa Bacatan. :)

It was a great time to bond once again with special friends, and have FUN!

Mother's Day Special: Pillowcase Dress

I was unsure of what to blog today, whether I write something about my mother or just the usual stuff that I make. Then I thought I'd just greet all the mothers out there a HAPPY MOTHERS' DAY --- Alles Gute zum Muttertag! And that should do it. I'm a mother myself (and understand how hard it is being a mom), but I still can't bring myself to talk about my mother. In a way though, I am thankful to her. I also thank my other mothers, who have been patient enough to listen, advise, and guide me in my life. I also thank my Kids for making me feel extra special on this day...

And when I'm happy, I usually am able to make things - either from scratch, or recycle/upcycle something. I have been eye-ing this nice pillowcase for some time now. It was used only once on a pillow, and I am kinda saving it for something special (I did not know what it is. I just kept it in my cabinet.)

I tried it on, and as a blouse, it fits me really good! But no, I don't need it and it would be much prettier on my daughter.

Oops, sorry for the blurry pics but yeah, that's her!

I wish all the Moms to enjoy this day with their Kids...

Crochet Monkey Beanie and Ballerina Flats

I started to learn crochet a few months back, and I've made tons of headbands, flowers and beanies for my kids and their friends. And so, I know how to make them without looking at patterns. And while I've been making dresses and crocheting, I've also been pinning a lot of crochet stuff in between. One of those are the baby ballerina flats/slippers. I just find them sooooo cute, and I've looked up for a pattern or two, but I have never really made them till Baby MK came.

Her mom asked me to make a monkey beanie for her, which I finished in a day...
She also asked me to make those cute ballerina slippers for MK. I said yes, although I was not sure how to make them at that time. :D
I had to watch a lot of youtube vids, but followed the one made by Sabrina, of cakesbysabrina

She really makes a lot of beautiful stuff, and I must say, "Thanks, Sabrina!"

So, here they are, the beanie and the shoes. :)

This is the first shoe I made, to try out how the finished one looks like.

Now, I am trying to make Amigurumi for the Kids. We'll see what I can make then ...

Dress the Goddesses

About 2 weeks ago, I was asked by friends to dress them up - - - for Cheeky's garden wedding. First to ask me was Lora. Of course, I've been making Lora's dresses and blouses countless of times so, I said yes. Hers was a venus-cut mullet (hi-low) dress. I breezed through it, did not take me much time since I already have her pattern. Here's the dress, ready for fitting.

After I finished this dress, I got a surprise SMS from Cheeky's friend asking me to also make one for her. I hesitated, as I do not know much about her style. I made for her a V-neck drape dress, which I am glad, she liked (and got approval from Cheeky). So, here's the Shirley dress (with my daughter as the model, coz Shirley is a bit slim as compared to my mannequin.)

And here's both Lora and Shirley (Cheeky's Maids of Honor) during the wedding ...

Aren't they lovely?
